X-Ray

At Imaging Center PC, we provide high-quality digital X-ray imaging to help diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions. X-rays are among the most used medical imaging techniques today. Our new digital X-ray technology offers fast, clear, and accurate imaging of bones, organs, and tissues. This non-invasive X-ray procedure utilizes electromagnetic radiation to produce images of internal structures. This enables us to see fractures, pneumonias, and other conditions.

Our digital X-ray services can detect broken bones, cancer, heart disease, and arthritis. Our skilled technologists are committed to ensuring patient comfort throughout the procedure while delivering the highest quality of care.

Whether you're dealing with an injury or monitoring a chronic condition, our X-ray services are here to support your health journey.

Preparing for your examination
Most examinations and procedures require some basic preparation from you before you arrive. Please read the relevant information prior to your appointment.
How does a digital X-ray procedure work?

During the procedure, electromagnetic radiation passes through your body and captures an image on a digital screen. Dense structures like bones appear white, while less dense structures appear in shades of gray or black. The process is quick, typically requiring no special preparation.

Can I undergo an X-ray if I am pregnant?

If you are pregnant or suspect you might be, it’s crucial for you to inform your technologist of this fact/possibility before the X-ray procedure. While the radiation exposure from X-rays is minimal, special precautions are taken to avoid exposing a fetus to unnecessary radiation. In most cases, the X-ray will be postponed or adjusted to minimize risks.

When is a digital X-ray used?

X-rays are used to diagnose a wide range of conditions, such as broken bones, joint problems, chest infections, and even cancer. They are often the first step in assessing symptoms like pain, discomfort, or abnormalities.

What should I expect during the procedure?

You will either stand or lie down, depending on which part of your body needs to be imaged. The technologist will position you and capture the necessary images. The process is usually painless and takes only a few minutes.

How should I prepare for my X-ray appointment?

In most cases, X-rays require minimal preparation. You may be asked to remove any metal objects, such as jewellery or belts, as they can interfere with the imaging process. For certain exams, you may need to wear a hospital gown to ensure clear images. If you are pregnant, or if the X-ray is targeting a specific area, you may receive additional instructions from our team in advance.

How safe are digital X-rays?

Digital X-rays use minimal radiation and are considered very safe. The exposure levels are kept as low as possible, and the benefits of having a clear diagnosis far outweigh any risks associated with the procedure.

How long does an X-ray take?

A typical X-ray takes around 10 to 15 minutes. However, the exact time may vary depending on the area being examined and the patient’s condition. Patients with limited mobility or other health issues may require additional time.

What conditions can be diagnosed with an X-ray?

X-rays are used to diagnose fractures, arthritis, infections, and some tumors.

What is the recovery or downtime after an X-ray?

None. The procedure is painless and non-invasive. You can go about your usual activities after your appointment.
